HALF DAY SANTIAGO
Half day
Full-Day Casablanca Valley Wine Tour
Discover the beauty of the Casablanca Valley, located just 80 kilometers from Santiago. Known for its over 6,000 hectares of vineyards, the region is celebrated as one of Chile's premier cool-climate wine areas and a hub of modern winemaking. This tour includes visits to renowned organic and biodynamic wineries, such as Matetic, and a delightful meal at the Casas del Bosque restaurant. Additionally, we've included a visit to the stunning Viñamar winery, where you can sample their fresh wines from the Leyda Valley.
The Casablanca Valley's success is largely attributed to its proximity to the ocean, providing cooler nights and warmer days. This, combined with the region's salty ocean air, cool breezes, and morning fog, creates an ideal climate for producing some of Chile's best Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The region's importance has led to comparisons with California's legendary Napa and Sonoma valleys. While white wines are the stars of the region, cool-climate reds like Pinot Noir and Syrah also thrive in the higher elevations
Viñamar Winery
Your journey begins with an introduction to the history and concept of Casa Valle Viñamar. A tour guide will lead you through the vineyards, explaining why the Casablanca and Leyda Valleys are ideal for producing cool coastal-climate and sparkling wines. The tour continues indoors, where you'll visit the tasting hall and underground cellar. Conclude the experience with a tasting of three award-winning Leyda wines: Sauvignon Blanc Garuma, Falaris Hill Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir Las Brisas. You'll gain insight into the unique characteristics of the Leyda Valley and the concepts behind these complex wines.
Lunch at Casas del Bosque
Enjoy lunch at 12:30 PM at the prestigious Tanino restaurant, located within the Casas del Bosque winery. Viña Casas del Bosque has been recognized as one of the top vineyards to visit globally, according to the 2022 ranking of the 50 Best Vineyards in the World. This esteemed list, compiled by nearly 500 experts in wine and wine tourism, aims to highlight the best wine tourism experiences worldwide. Guests can order à la carte and are responsible for their own lunch expenses.
Matetic Winery
The final stop is Matetic winery, nestled in the Rosario Valley between the coastal valleys of Casablanca and San Antonio. The visit begins at Emporio Viña Matetic, where a bilingual guide will warmly welcome you. You'll learn about the winemaking process, the unique terroir, and the winery's organic and biodynamic practices. The tour concludes with a tasting of four wines: two glasses of premium Corralillo wines and two glasses of ultra-premium EQ wines. At the Emporio, you can purchase your favorite wines, browse gourmet products, and shop for souvenirs and locally made handicrafts. Matetic wines reflect the distinctive terroir of the Rosario Valley, characterized by ancient granitic soils and a pronounced coastal influence from the Pacific Ocean, which contribute to the production of wines that are true to their origin.
